Club 21 Tucson Vintage T-Shirt
Tucson's Club 21 was the sole survivor of the once common family-owned restaurants alongside US 89 through the Old Pueblo. Long after all the original roadside diners and small restaurants that once lined the famous Miracle Mile along the Stone-Drachman-Oracle Corridor were gone, Club 21 remained in the Founding Family's hands for an amazing 73-year run. Club 21 opened its doors just as US 89 was on the doorsteps of ever-increasing post World War II traffic. The restaurant's highway location at the north roundabout of Miracle Mile helped it reap a steady flow of local and traveling customers until I-10 eventually swiped most of Miracle Mile's traffic. Freeway be damned, Club 21's menu and reputation was by then well known far and wide, so the little restaurant that could not only continued to survive but thrived until finally calling it quits in 2019.
But what about the name? While several competing stories exist about how the restaurant got its name, owner, Taft "Skip" Jacob says that his dad, George Jacob, and uncles salvaged parts of old signs — one reading "Club," and the other "21" — to come up with a name for their fledgling cafe. Hey, that's good enough for us!
Please refer to the size card below to help find the right size for you. Some people will say B+C shirts run a little small while others will say that they are 'true to size' so clearly, sizing is subjective at best as just like opinions, everyone's body is different. If you're on the fence about sizing, we always suggest going up a size as even high-quality pre-shrunk tees like these average about 1% shrinkage, all dependent on how you wash and dry them, of course.
